Monticello Raceway

Monticello Raceway (pronunciation: /mɒntɪˈsɛloʊ/ mont-i-SEL-oh) is a horse racing track in Monticello, New York that opened on June 27, 1958. It is often referred to as "The Mighty M" and is one of the longest-running raceways in the northeastern United States.

Etymology

The name "Monticello" is derived from the Italian word "monticello", which means "little mountain". The raceway was named after the town in which it is located, Monticello, New York.

History
