aldesleukin - (pronounced) (AL-of-LOO-kin) drug used to treat adults with melanoma or renal cell carcinoma (a type of kidney cancer) that has spread to other parts of the body. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Aldesleukin is a laboratory-made form of interleukin-2. Aldesleukin increases the activity and growth of white blood cells called T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes, which can help the immune system kill cancer cells.
