Dietetic (pronunciation: /ˌdaɪ.əˈtɛt.ɪk/) is a term that refers to the science of diet and its effects on health. It is derived from the Greek word "διαιτητική" (diaitētikē), which means "the art of dieting".

Dietetics is a multidisciplinary field of health care that involves the application of nutrition science to promote health and manage diseases.
