Source: World DataBank, Gender Statistics, The World Bank and United Nations http://databank.worldbank.org/data/views/variableselection/selectvariables.aspx?source=gender-statistics Caution: The census data or actual birth records for each country may be different than WDB database. For example, Swiss Statistics reported 42,435 boys and 39,729 girls were born in 2012, giving a birth sex ratio of 1.068 (Datenbank: FSO - STAT-TAB / Federal Statistical Office, 2010 Neuchâtel, Switzerland, http://www.pxweb.bfs.admin.ch/Dialog/Saveshow.asp ). WDB estimates 2012 sex ratio for Switzerland to be 1.052. In other cases, WDB estimates are a bit higher than national birth records or child census data. This map uses the published WDB database.
