Description
English: A picture on sheet damage created by the galling phenomenon using a SOFS (TNO) test equipment. The characteristic pattern illustrate continues lines or stripes indicating a breakthrough of the oxide surface layer. Abrasive wear is distinguished by damage below the sheets surface layer and consequently is the pattern discussed as an abrasive pattern due to these formed continues stripes.
