| Description | Pyknotic nuclei of epithelioid cells and possibly lymphocytes, called apoptotic bodies, appear to be the earliest mainfestation of necrosis in sarcoid granulomas. They are often seen in association with granular necrosis. In this image granular necrosis is absent. |
