Description In the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, “Venchamarach Solam” is used in the Pongal festival. Today it is cultivated by very few people in the villages of Perambaralur district of Tiruchirappalli. It is the “Indigenous Corn”. It is a tradition of Tamils. Most of them cultivate hybrid varieties of corn.
