Description Intermediate magnification micrograph of a traditional serrated adenoma, commonly abbreviated TSA, a pre-malignant lesion of the colon, i.e. a pre-cursor of colorectal cancer. H&E stain. Colonic biopsy.

Features:

Classically: rectum/left colon. Morphology: polypoid. Cytologic atypia: cigar-shaped nuclei, hyperchromasia, nuclear crowding. Location of worst atypia: basal. Luminal serration: present. Cytoplasm: eosinophilic. Related images
