Summary
Description	This coat of arms was accorded to the Royal College of Nursing in 1946 by the College of Arms. it denotes the day (sun) and night (stars) service nurses give. The open book of learning and the roman lamp is the heraldic symbol of nursing. The motto means 'we hand on the torch'
