A Researcher (pronunciation: /rɪˈsɜːtʃər/) is a person who conducts scientific research to discover new information or reach a new understanding.

Etymology

The term "Researcher" is derived from the Middle French "recherche", which means "to go about seeking". It was first used in the English language in the 1570s.
