Sciatic

Sciatic (pronunciation: /saɪˈætɪk/) refers to anything related to the sciatic nerve, the longest and widest single nerve in the human body. It begins in the lower back and runs through the buttock and down the lower limb.

Etymology

The term "sciatic" comes from the Latin sciaticus meaning "of the hip" and from the Greek iskhiadikos which also means "hip".
