Aortopulmonary Space

The Aortopulmonary Space (pronunciation: ay-or-toh-puhl-muh-nuh-ree speys) is a term used in medical anatomy to describe the region located between the aorta and the pulmonary artery in the human body.

Etymology

The term "Aortopulmonary Space" is derived from the combination of two words: "Aorta" and "Pulmonary". "Aorta" is derived from the Greek word "Aorte", which means 'that which is hung up', and "Pulmonary" is derived from the Latin word "Pulmonarius", which means 'of the lungs'.
