Biphobia

Biphobia (/baɪˈfoʊbiə/; from bisexuality and phobia) is an aversion toward bisexuality and bisexual people as a social group or as individuals. It can take the form of denial that bisexuality is a genuine sexual orientation, or of negative stereotypes about people who are bisexual (such as the beliefs that they are promiscuous or dishonest).

Etymology

The term "biphobia" is derived from the English prefix bi-, meaning "two", and the Greek suffix -phobia, meaning "fear" or "aversion". It was coined in the late 20th century as a social and psychological term to describe prejudice, fear, or hatred against bisexuality or bisexual people.
