CRL-40,941

CRL-40,941 (pronunciation: /ˈsiːɑːrɛl ˈfɔːrtiː naɪn fɔːrtiː wʌn/), also known as Flmodafinil or Lauflumide, is a eugeroic and nootropic agent. It is a bisfluoro analog of Modafinil (CRL-40,940) and has been reported to produce similar effects but with a higher potency.

Etymology

The name "CRL-40,941" is derived from the initials of the company that first synthesized it, Cephalon Research Laboratories, followed by the unique number assigned to it during its development. The alternative name, "Flmodafinil", is a portmanteau of "fluorine-modafinil", indicating the addition of fluorine atoms to the original modafinil structure.

Usage and Effects

CRL-40,941 is used for its wakefulness-promoting and cognitive enhancement effects. It is believed to work by inhibiting the reuptake of dopamine, thereby increasing the concentration of dopamine in the brain. This leads to increased alertness, improved focus, and enhanced cognitive function.
