Cardiovascular Research (kar-dee-oh-vas-kyoo-lar ree-surch) is a branch of medicine and biology that involves the study and investigation of the cardiovascular system, including the heart, blood vessels, and the process of blood circulation.

Etymology

The term "Cardiovascular" is derived from the Greek words kardia, meaning heart, and vasculum, meaning little vessel. "Research" comes from the Old French re- and cerchier which means to search thoroughly.
