Short definitioncomputed tomographic colonography - (pronounced) (kum-PYOO-ted toh-muh-GRA-fik KOH-lun-AH-gruh-fee) method of examining the inside of the colon through a series of X-rays. A computer is used to create 2-dimensional (2-D) and 3-D images of the colon from these X-rays. The images can be saved, manipulated for better viewing angles, and reviewed after the procedure, even years later. Also referred to as computed tomography colonography, CT colonography, CTC, and virtual colonoscopy
