FIHP - A rare inherited disorder in which one or more tumors develop in the parathyroid glands (four pea-sized organs on top of the thyroid gland), causing them to produce too much parathyroid hormone. The increased parathyroid hormone causes a loss of calcium from the bones and too much calcium in the blood. Also called familial isolated hyperparathyroidism
