Glassware (/ˈɡlɑːsweər/; from Old English 'glæs' and 'ware') refers to a variety of equipment, traditionally made of glass, used for scientific experiments and other work in science, especially in chemistry and biology laboratories.

Etymology

The term "glassware" is a combination of the words "glass" and "ware", denoting goods or items made from glass. The word "glass" comes from the Old English 'glæs', while "ware" is from the Old English 'waru', meaning manufactured articles of a specified type.

Types of Glassware
