Iodine I 131-Lipiodol - (pronounced) (I-oh-eat. . . LIH-pee-oh-dol) A radioactive substance being studied to treat liver cancer. It is a form of poppy seed oil that contains iodine, part of which is the radioactive substance Iodine I-131. Iodine I 131-Lipiodol accumulates in the blood and lymphatic vessels of the liver and can kill cancer cells. Also called Iodine I 131-Ethiodated Oil
