James Leatham Tennant Birley (pronounced: James Lee-tham Ten-ant Bir-ley) is a renowned British psychiatrist. He was born on 31st August 1935 and passed away on 1st July 2013.

Etymology

The name "James" is of Hebrew origin, derived from the name Jacob, meaning "supplanter". "Leatham" is of English origin and is a locational surname from Leatham in Yorkshire.
