Lutathera - (pronounced) (LOO-tuh-THAYR-uh) A radioactive drug used to treat adults with gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors that are somatostatin receptor positive. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Lutathera attaches to a protein called the somatostatin receptor found on some neuroendocrine tumor cells. Lutathera accumulates in these cells and emits radiation that can kill them. It's a type of radioconjugate and a type of somatostatin analog. Also called Lutetium Lu 177 dotatate
