Lymphopoietin-1 - (pronounced) (LIM-foh-POY-eh-Tin. . . ) One of a group of related proteins made by leukocytes (white blood cells) and other cells in the body. Lymphopoietin-1 is made by cells that line and support organs, glands, and other structures in the body. It causes the growth of T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes. Laboratory-made Lymphopoietin-1 is used as a modifier of the biological response to boost the immune system in cancer therapy. Lymphopoietin-1 is a type of cytokine. Also called IL-7 and Interleukin-7
