ITP is a condition in which platelets are destroyed by the immune system. R788 sodium is also being studied to treat other conditions and cancers. It blocks an enzyme called Syk, which can help prevent the immune system from destroying platelets. R788 sodium is a type of tyrosine kinase inhibitor.
