Radiopaedia

Radiopaedia (/ˌraɪdiːoʊˈpiːdiə/), is a rapidly growing open-edit educational radiology resource which has been primarily compiled by radiologists and radiology trainees from across the world. Our mission is to create the best radiology reference, and to make it available for free, forever.

Etymology

The term "Radiopaedia" is a portmanteau of the words "radiology" and "encyclopedia". The term was coined by Dr. Frank Gaillard, an Australian radiologist who founded the website in 2005.

History

Radiopaedia was founded in 2005 by Dr. Frank Gaillard, a radiologist from Melbourne, Australia. The website started as a personal project to create an online radiology resource, but quickly grew into a comprehensive radiology reference used by medical professionals worldwide.

Content

Radiopaedia's content is created by a community of users who contribute cases, articles, and quizzes. The website covers a wide range of topics in radiology, including anatomy, pathology, radiology techniques, and radiology signs. Each entry provides a detailed explanation of the topic, along with relevant images and references.
