Salus University (pronounced: /ˈsæləs juːˈnɪvərsɪti/) is a private university in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, specializing in degree programs for the health care professions.

Etymology

The name "Salus" is derived from the Latin word for "health and well-being". The university was founded in 1919 as the Pennsylvania State College of Optometry (PSCO) and changed its name to Salus University in 2008 to reflect its diversified educational offerings.
