Sewage (/ˈsuːɪdʒ/) is a type of wastewater that is produced by a community of people. It is typically transported through a network of pipes and pump stations known as a sewage system to a sewage treatment plant.

The term "sewage" is derived from the Old French word sewer, meaning "to drain" or "to let flow out".
