Sexual Harassment (pronunciation: /ˈsekʃ(əw)əl ˈharəsmənt/) is a form of Sex Discrimination that involves the unwelcome or inappropriate promise of rewards in exchange for sexual favors.

Etymology

The term "Sexual Harassment" is derived from the English language. The word "sexual" is derived from the Latin word "sexualis", meaning "relating to sex", and "harassment" is derived from the French word "harasser", meaning "to tire out or exhaust".

Sexual Harassment includes a range of actions from mild transgressions to sexual abuse or Sexual Assault. Harassers or victims may be of any gender. It is considered a form of illegal and social harassment, and it may occur in various settings, such as the workplace or education system.
