Sociological (pronunciation: /ˌsoʊsiəˈlɒdʒɪkəl/) is an adjective that pertains to sociology, the study of society, patterns of social relationships, social interaction, and culture that surrounds everyday life. It is derived from the Latin word socius meaning "companion, associate, partner, or friend" and the Greek -λογία (-logia) which means "study of" or "science of".
