Velcade - (pronounced) (VEL-kayd) drug used to treat adults with multiple myeloma or mantle cell lymphoma. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Velcade blocks the action of enzymes called proteasomes, which can help stop cancer cells from growing and kill them. It's a type of proteasome inhibitor. Also called bortezomib and PS-341
