Xatmep - (pronounced) (ZAT-mep) A medicine used alone or with other medicines to treat many types of cancer, certain types of arthritis and severe psoriasis (a type of skin disease). It is also being studied in the treatment of other diseases and cancers. Xatmep stops cells from using folic acid to make DNA and can kill cancer cells. It can also decrease the body's immune response. Xatmep is a type of antimetabolite and a type of antifolate. Also called methotrexate sodium, MTX and Trexall
