Accommodate (pronounced: /əˈkɒmədeɪt/) is a term commonly used in the medical field, particularly in the context of vision and eye health.

The term "accommodate" is derived from the Latin word "accommodare" which means "to make fit, adapt, or adjust".

Definition

In the context of medicine, to accommodate refers to the ability of the eye to change its focus from distant to near objects (and vice versa). This process is achieved by the lens changing its shape.
