Accountability in Research (pronunciation: /əˌkaʊn.təˈbɪl.ɪ.ti ɪn rɪˈsɜːrtʃ/) is a principle that encompasses the obligation of researchers to answer for the outcomes of their research activities. This includes the ethical conduct of research, the integrity of data, and the dissemination of research findings.
