Acetogenesis (pronounced as a-ceto-genesis) is a process through which acetogens produce acetic acid from carbon dioxide and hydrogen. This process is a part of the carbon cycle, and it plays a significant role in the anaerobic digestion of organic materials.

Etymology

Process
