Ahead

Ahead (/əˈhɛd/) is an English term that is often used in medical contexts to refer to the position or direction in front of or before. The term is derived from the Old English words "on" meaning "on" or "in" and "heafod" meaning "head".

Medical Usage

In medical terminology, 'ahead' is often used to describe the position of a body part or organ in relation to another. For example, in the context of anatomy, if a structure is located more towards the front of the body, it is said to be 'ahead' of another structure that is located more towards the back.

In neurology, 'ahead' can also refer to the direction of nerve impulses traveling from the brain to the rest of the body. For instance, the impulses from the brain to the hand travel 'ahead' to the hand.
