Alamethicin is a peptide antibiotic, produced by the fungus Trichoderma viride. It is a member of the peptolide family and is known for its ability to form voltage-gated ion channels in cell membranes. Structure

Alamethicin consists of a sequence of amino acids, making it a peptide.
