Algolagnia (pronounced: al-go-lag-nee-uh) is a term used in the field of psychology and sexology to describe a condition where an individual derives sexual pleasure and arousal from physical pain. The term is often associated with BDSM, a variety of erotic practices involving dominance and submission, role-playing, restraint, and other interpersonal dynamics.
