History
Andalusia is named after the region of Andalusia in Spain. The area was historically significant as a center of commerce and trade due to its proximity to the Delaware River. The community is known for its historic estates and architecture, including the Andalusia estate, which is a National Historic Landmark.
Geography
Andalusia is situated in the southeastern part of Pennsylvania, approximately 13 miles northeast of Philadelphia. The community is bordered by the Delaware River to the east and is part of the larger Philadelphia metropolitan area.
