Anteroposterior

Anteroposterior (pronounced: an-ter-o-pos-ter-e-or) is a term used in Anatomy and Medical imaging to describe the direction of an object or structure in relation to the body. The term is derived from the Latin words 'anterior' meaning 'front' and 'posterior' meaning 'back'.

In an anteroposterior direction, something moves from the front (anterior) of the body towards the back (posterior) or vice versa. This term is often used in medical imaging to describe the path that X-rays or other imaging beams take through the body.
