Etymology
The term "Appendicular Artery" is derived from the Latin word "appendicula", meaning a small appendage, and the Greek word "arteria", meaning windpipe, artery.
Anatomy
The Appendicular Artery originates from the Ileocolic artery, which is a branch of the Superior mesenteric artery. It travels in the mesoappendix, reaching the tip of the appendix to supply it with oxygenated blood.
