Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a National Health Service (NHS) foundation trust that operates Ashford Hospital and St Peter's Hospital. The trust is one of the largest providers of acute hospital services in Surrey, England.

History

The trust was established in 1998, following the merger of Ashford Hospital and St Peter's Hospital. It gained foundation trust status in 2010, which gave it greater freedom from central government control and the ability to retain surpluses and borrow to invest in services.

Services

The trust provides a wide range of services, including emergency, maternity, surgical, and medical services. It also offers specialist services such as cardiology, oncology, and orthopaedics.

Performance

The trust has been rated as 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and social care in England. It has also been recognised for its work in patient safety and quality improvement.

Governance

The trust is governed by a board of directors which includes both executive and non-executive directors. The board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the trust and ensuring that it provides high-quality, safe, and effective care.
