Beaver County is a county located in the western part of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census, the population was 168,215. The county seat is Beaver. The county was created on March 12, 1800, from parts of Allegheny and Washington counties. It was named for the Beaver River.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 444 square miles (1,150 km²), of which 435 square miles (1,130 km²) is land and 9.3 square miles (24 km²) (2.1%) is water. The county is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.

Demographics
As of the census of 2020, there were 168,215 people, 70,000 households, and 45,000 families residing in the county. The population density was 387 people per square mile (149/km²). There were 75,000 housing units at an average density of 172 per square mile (66/km²).
The racial makeup of the county was 90.5% White, 6.5% Black or African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.5% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.5% from other races, and 1.8% from two or more races. 1.5% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Government and politics
Beaver County is governed by a board of three county commissioners. The county is part of Pennsylvania's 17th congressional district.
