Chef & Brewer

From WikiMD's medical encyclopedia

Chef & Brewer is a chain of around 127 pubs in the United Kingdom, owned by Greene King and concentrated in the South of England. The brand has a high reputation for serving high-quality traditional pub food and cask ales in period settings.

History

The Chef & Brewer brand was created in the early 1970s by the Grand Metropolitan company, which later became part of Diageo. The brand was sold to Spirit Pub Company in 1999, which in turn was acquired by Greene King in 2015.

Concept

Chef & Brewer pubs are typically located in restored historic buildings and offer a traditional pub atmosphere. The menu focuses on classic British dishes, made with locally sourced ingredients where possible. The pubs also offer a wide range of cask ales, wines, and spirits.
