Chloromethylandrostenediol

Chloromethylandrostenediol (pronunciation: klor-oh-meth-yl-an-dros-ten-ee-diol) is a synthetic, orally active anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS) and a derivative of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). It is also known as 4-chloro-17α-methyl-δ2-androstenediol.

Etymology

The term "Chloromethylandrostenediol" is derived from its chemical structure. "Chloro" refers to the presence of a chlorine atom, "methyl" indicates a methyl group, and "androstenediol" is a type of steroid hormone produced in the adrenal glands.

Pharmacology

Chloromethylandrostenediol is a prodrug of 4-chloromethylandrostenolone, which is itself a derivative of dihydrotestosterone. It has been found to possess both anabolic and androgenic properties, which means it can promote muscle growth and male sexual characteristics.
