Crisp County is a county located in the central part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 20,128. The county seat is Cordele.
History
Crisp County was created in 1905 from Dooly County. It was named in honor of Charles Frederick Crisp, a jurist and politician who served as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1891 to 1895.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 281 square miles (730 km²), of which 273 square miles (710 km²) is land and 8.0 square miles (21 km²) (2.8%) is water.
