Cypenamine (trans-2-phenylcyclopentan-1-amine) is a stimulant drug of the amphetamine class. It is closely related to amphetamine itself, differing only by the presence of a cyclopentane ring instead of the phenyl ring. Cypenamine is considered to have similar effects to amphetamine, promoting the release of dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain, leading to increased alertness, focus, and energy levels.
