Dothan
Dothan is a city in the U.S. state of Alabama. Located in the southeastern part of the state, it is the county seat of Houston County. Dothan is known as "The Peanut Capital of the World" due to its extensive involvement in the peanut farming industry.
History
Dothan was established in 1885, when the railroad was extended to that point. The city was named after Dothan, a biblical location mentioned in the Book of Genesis. The area was originally inhabited by indigenous peoples, but was settled by European immigrants in the 18th century.

Dothan is located in the southeastern corner of Alabama, approximately 20 miles west of the Georgia state line and 18 miles north of Florida. The city is predominantly flat, with a few gently rolling hills.
