History

Fäviken was opened in 2008 by Magnus Nilsson, a chef who had previously worked at the three-Michelin-starred restaurant L'Astrance in Paris. The restaurant is located on the 20,000-acre Fäviken estate, which is owned by the Brummer family. The estate includes a hunting lodge, a sauna, and several guest rooms.

Cuisine

The cuisine at Fäviken is characterized by its focus on local and foraged ingredients. The restaurant has its own farm, and most of the ingredients used in the kitchen are sourced from the surrounding area. The menu changes seasonally and is heavily influenced by traditional Nordic cooking techniques. Closure

In 2019, Nilsson announced that he would be closing Fäviken at the end of the year. He cited a desire to spend more time with his family and to pursue other projects as the reasons for his decision.
