Summary
DescriptionMycorrhiza I – Mycorrhiza and the Environment.webm
English: The word „mycorrhiza“ refers to the symbiosis of the roots of many plants with various fungi. Such fungi are almost ubiquitous in our environment and are forming large belowground networks. This video summarizes the benefits of the interaction for plant hosts: Mycorrhizal plants are often more robust and are growing faster than non-mycorrhizal ones; they are more resistant against physical or chemical stress and they are better able to defend against many pathogens.
