He was introduced as a surgical intern at Seattle Grace Hospital, working alongside fellow interns Meredith Grey, Cristina Yang, Izzie Stevens, and Alex Karev. George was often referred to by the nickname "007" due to his perceived lack of surgical skills early in the series.

Departure

George O'Malley's character met a tragic end in the season 5 finale, "Now or Never". He was hit by a bus while saving a woman and later died from his injuries. His death had a profound impact on the other characters and the storyline of the series.

Character Traits

George was known for his kind-hearted nature, empathy, and dedication to his patients. Despite his initial struggles, he grew to become a competent and respected surgeon. His character often provided a moral compass for the series, and his relationships with other characters were central to many storylines.
