History
The company was founded by King Camp Gillette in 1901 as the American Safety Razor Company. The first product was a safety razor with disposable blades, which was a revolutionary innovation at the time. The company was renamed the Gillette Safety Razor Company in 1902 and later became simply the Gillette Company.
In 2005, Gillette was acquired by Procter & Gamble for $57 billion. This acquisition made P&G the world's largest consumer goods company.
